Situation
In celebration of McLaren Racing’s 60th anniversary, the company launched the 60 Scholars programme in 2023. Supported by Official Programme Partners Cisco, Deloitte, and Google, and Official Learning and Skills Partner Udemy, the programme aimed to inspire and empower the next generation of female leaders in STEM.
This immersive six-week course included mentorship sessions, panel discussions, skills workshops, and hands-on racing experiences.
Solution
The challenge was to produce a series of six web articles that not only showcased the experiences of the 60 Scholars but also reflected McLaren Racing’s commitment to young women in STEM, all while adhering to McLaren’s distinctive tone of voice and style, and meeting the needs of partners and sponsors.
To deliver compelling content for the series, I employed the following approach:
• Webinar participation: Attended relevant webinars to gain a comprehensive understanding of the programme’s structure and objectives, and to gather insights into the scholars’ experiences and the programme’s overall impact
• Interviews: Conducted in-depth interviews with seven selected scholars to capture their personal learning journeys and achievements throughout the programme
• Content creation: Developed six engaging web articles based on interview insights and webinar information. Each article was crafted in McLaren’s tone of voice and style, highlighting the scholars’ individual experiences, the programme’s benefits, and the contributions of programme partners, while reflecting McLaren Racing’s dedication to advancing women in STEM
The series of articles effectively communicated the programme’s impact and the scholars’ achievements, aligning with McLaren Racing’s partners and sponsors’ interests and reinforcing the team’s commitment to empowering young women in STEM.
