Situation
Unilever aimed to spotlight sustainability champions within its organisation and across its partner initiatives through its New Leaders series. The objective was to showcase individuals who significantly contributed to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to highlight impactful projects such as addressing water scarcity in India, promoting handwashing behaviour, and providing affordable sanitation in Peru. The challenge was to effectively curate and repurpose existing content while creating fresh copy to celebrate these leaders and their contributions.
Solution
To support Unilever's New Leaders series, I developed a comprehensive content strategy that included:
• Content curation: Identified and organised existing assets to highlight the achievements of 14 New Leaders.
• Video repurposing: Adapted and repurposed video content to align with the campaign’s messaging and effectively showcase the leaders' work.
• Original copywriting: Wrote engaging sustainability-focused copy to celebrate each leader's contributions and the projects they led or supported, ensuring alignment with the UN SDGs.
The campaign successfully celebrated the leaders’ efforts, drawing attention to their impactful projects and reinforcing Unilever’s commitment to sustainability.
